India Conference Visa

Conference visas are issued to delegates who want to attend a conference in India that’s offered by an Indian government organization. Those who are attending a conference with a private organization in India should apply for a Business visa.

A Conference Visa is provided only if the delegates are able to produce an invitation to a conference / seminar / workshop being organized in India by the following:

  • Ministry or Department of Government of India
  • State Governments.
  • Public Sector Undertakings
  • Central Educational Institutions
  • Public Funded University
  • An organization owned and controlled by the Government of India or State Government.
  • UN and its specialized agencies
  • Reputed NGO’s
  • Private Companies.

The applicant is required to possess a valid passport with a valid Indian visa before they start their travel to India. Every traveler, including minor children, must each have a valid visa to travel to India.

  • If your Spouse is registered to attend the conference along with you, then she/he must also apply for a Conference Visa.
  • If your Spouse is NOT attending the conference, she/he must apply for a Tourist Visa.
  • If your Minor children are accompanying you on your visit to India, they must apply for a Tourist Visa.

Duration & Validity

  • A Single Entry Conference Visa is generally issued for the duration of the Conference up to a maximum of 3 months.
  • If the Conference in India is organized by private companies, an applicant should apply for the shortest duration available.
  • Validity of Conference Visa commences from the date of issuance of the VISA and NOT from the day of entry into India.

Documents required for india conference visa application

  • Application form * 1
  • Colour photo * 1 (3,5 x 4,5 cms)
  • Original passport
  • Copy of return ticket or reservation
  • A letter of invitation from the conference organizer should be submitted along with the visa application

In case if conference is being organised by an NGO the following clearances are required:

  • Copy of the security clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, India
  • Copy of the political clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, India
  • Copy of the administrative approval from the Nodal Ministry, India
  • Copy of the clearance from the concerned State Government
